Applications to join the programme will be accepted until the end of the orientation module.
Module 1: Artificial intelligence ecosystem
Explore the history and potential of AI within the context of the digital ecosystem.
Module 2: AI and machine learning: understanding the black box
Delve into the mechanics of the three main types of machine learning: supervised, reinforcement and unsupervised learning.
Module 3: Deep learning and neural networks
Understand what deep learning is and how it is powering the modern approach to AI.
Module 4: Working with intelligent machines
Explore the concept of intelligence in machines and the impact of AI in the labour market.
Module 5: Ethics of AI

Course 2: AI Ethics, Regulation and Compliance
A detailed look at creating trustworthy AI
The AI Ethics, Regulation and Compliance Programme is a new offering that was created in response to the need to provide trustworthy AI systems that conform with the upcoming regulations on AI.
The programme provides an in-depth review of AI ethics and why it is so important to ensure safe innovations with AI, what the regulators are trying to achieve, and how to ensure compliance.
The programme consists of three modules including a module where we onboard participants onto the oxethica platform, providing practical insight into streamlined AI governance.

Module 1: Navigating AI failures
Explore the ethical and risk foundations necessary for regulatory compliance and audit readiness. Examine how and why AI systems fail, apply ethics as a key lens for assessing AI, and discover how to embed digital ethics and governance structures within an organisation.
Module 2: AI regulation in Europe
Delve into the operational detail of European AI regulation. Understand the EU AI Act in depth and explore how AI intersects with the broader EU technology framework including privacy, liability and product safety.
Module 3: Global AI regulation
Compare regulatory regimes across the world and develop a globally coherent compliance strategy. Examine approaches across the US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Brazil, South Korea and China, and explore how generative and agentic AI is being regulated globally.
Module 4: Auditing AI systems
Translate regulatory knowledge into practice and develop the skills to conduct and oversee AI audits within your organisation. Understand the scope of the compliance mandate, assess robustness and fairness using bias and discrimination metrics, and apply conformity assessment in practice using oxethica's tool.
Certification
To recognise the varying levels of competence participants can achieve through our programs, we offer certifications to help ensure that the obtained skills remain current as global regulations evolve and technology advances. This is particularly important as frameworks such as the EU AI Act are designed to adapt in line with ongoing developments in AI.
We offer three certification levels to help professionals demonstrate their expertise to employers, clients, and regulators:
Certified AI Professional (CAIP)
A Certified AI Professional (CAIP) understands the technical foundations and future of AI, from core machine learning methods to deep learning and neural networks. They can assess the impact of intelligent machines in the workplace, navigate ethical and legal considerations, and identify practical AI opportunities to drive business value.
Who is eligible? All participants who have completed the Oxford Artificial Intelligence Programme can obtain their CAIP certificate by submitting a copy of their programme certificate to info@oxethica.com.
Certified AI Ethicist (CAIE)
The Certified AI Ethicist ensures trustworthy and safe AI by applying key ethical principles, aligning with regulatory objectives, operationalising practical compliance with emerging AI laws, and confidently navigating the oxethica platform.
Please note: This certification is subject to a two-year review, requiring Certified AI Ethicists to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of AI advancements and regulatory changes through approved follow-up courses. Further guidance on this process will be provided in due course.
Who is eligible? All participants who have completed the AI Ethics, Compliance and Regulation Programme can obtain their CAIE certificate by submitting a copy of their programme certificates to info@oxethica.com.
Certified AI Auditor (CAIA)
Certified AI Auditor (CAIA) The Certified AI Auditor is able to conduct compliance audits of AI systems, ensuring they meet legal requirements, demonstrate technical robustness, and align with ethical standards. Certified AI Auditors will also be equipped to use the oxethica governance platform to create AI inventories, assess AI system risk levels, and complete the documentation required to meet regulatory mandates according to region and to the kind of AI system.
Please note: This certification is subject to a two-year review, requiring Certified AI Auditors to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of AI advancements and regulatory changes through approved follow-up courses. Further guidance on this process will be provided in due course.
